IP Patent Prosecution Legal Secretary.

About this job

Houston office has an excellent opportunity for an experienced IP Patent Prosecution Legal Secretary.

This individual will support two IP attorneys as well as one real estate attorney.

Requirements include:
Experience preparing and filing documents with the USPTO including e-filing, drafting responses, Information Disclosure Statements, and transmittal documents associated with patent and trademark prosecution, and monitoring and maintaining a patent and trademark docket.

The legal secretarial candidate needs to be familiar with terminology and procedures relating to patent and trademark prosecution. Qualified candidate will have experience handling both domestic and foreign prosecution, preparing and filing responses to office actions and preparing correspondence to clients related to the filing and prosecution of US and foreign patents and trademarks.

Candidate must have excellent verbal, written, proof reading and organizational skills as well as the ability to effectively manage competing priorities. Must also be proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Candidate must be a self-starter, able to work in a fast-paced team environment and demonstrate a strong client service orientation. This position is full time (37.50 hours per week) and requires flexibility for overtime as needed.
